About the Artist: Mary Verigan is a grandmother from Kimberly BC who makes beautiful pine needle baskets, vases & coasters by hand.
First she gathers ponderosa pine, cuts them to equal lengths, and then washes them. Once dry, she hand weaves the pine needles to create her lovely collection.
Made in the East Kootenays, BC, Canada.
Indigenous people traditionally used pine needle baskets for storing food, carrying water and cooking.
